It is
projected that the population would reach around 2.94 crores by 2021 (Census
Population Report 2019). As per Census 2011, the Scheduled Caste (SC)
population is 0.51 crores (20.17%). Out of the 22 districts, top five SC
dominant districts account for 32.92% of SC population in Haryana (Figure 1
& Annexure 1, Haryana Profile).

Of the
total population of Haryana state, around 65.12 percent live in the villages of
rural areas. The population growth rate in Haryana for rural populatation
recorded for this decade (2001-2011) was 9.85%. In rural regions of Haryana
state, female sex ratio per 1000 males was 882.
