REPORT OF THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT

CRITIQUE OF THE ANNUAL ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT OF THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR THE YEAR 2016-17. During the year 2016-17, 3503 medical institutions including 59 hospitals,123 community Health Centres,498 Primary Health Centres,125 Dispensaries,15 District Tuberculosis Centers/T.B Clinics,37 Post Partum Centres, 16 Urban Health Posts and 2630 Sub Centres were functioning at the end of the year. The number of patients treated in these institutions was 2,40,29,646 New outdoor and 21,46,939 New indoor during the year 2016 (provisional). Under the national Programme for control of blindness,1,13,490 intraocular operations were performed during the year. Under the family welfare programme 64,854 Sterilization operations were performed and 2,20,387 I.U.C.D insertions were done.1,92,64,892 Condom Pieces and 10,08,493 Oral Pill cycles were distributed/registered during the year 2016-17 as against 70,591 sterilization operations 2,33,497 I.U.C.D insertions 1,77,94,186 Condom Pieces and 9,99,260 Oral Pill cycles were distributed/registered during the year 2015-16. The overall performance remained satisfactory. It is expected that in future too, the Health department will maintain the tempo of progress in providing medical facilities of the public in the state.
